First off let me say that I would never destroy or deface any working (in decent condition) Commodore equipment. I am an avid collector and most of my systems are in original condition.

This Commodore 64C was in terrible condition; the case was marked, scratched and damaged and the keyboard had several keys missing and several keys did not respond. The internals were still 100% working though so I decided to try a little project.

I wanted to go with a slick and modern look whilst still keeping the original Commodore 64C concept in mind. I am very pleased with the way it turned out, especially the paint job.

Process

1. I stripped the inside out (including the power LED) and was left with an empty top and bottom case.
2. I sanded all the scratches away and cleaned the case thoroughly with soap and water, rinsed and finished with a wipe down with alcohol.
3. Applied several thin coats of black satin spray paint on both the inside and outside of the case. I used Krylon Fusion which needs no primer and is specially formulated for plastics.
4. Let dry for 7 days (recommended time by Krylon for maximum hardness)
5. Applied several coats of clear UV protective Krylon Fusion Paint.
6. Let dry for another 7 days.
7. Cleaned the motherboard off and installed it back in the case.
8. Replaced all the number and letter keys with ones I salvaged from a broken Commodore C16. These are grey keys and give the keyboard a custom look.
9. Put the power LED back, fixed the keyboard in place and closed the case.
10. Turned on and made sure it was 100% working.

Pictures of the end result

I hope you enjoy the pictures and feel free to comment with any ideas.

My next project is going to be a Commodore 64 (bread bin) in textured shimmered silver and black.

As a bonus it was free as I subscribed for the WoW annual pass.

As many of my friend already know I am a fanatic Blizzard supporter and an avid player of World of Warcraft and Star Craft 2. I have been anticipating the launch of Diablo 3 for a long time now. I did not play the beta or even try the game when there was a free beta weekend. I wanted it to be a new experience altogether for me.

Initially I was planning to stay up and wait for the 3am EST launch but my age is showing and I fell asleep. I woke up at approximately 9:30 and, with a cup of coffee next to me, I logged on for the first time. Everything went smooth. I was able to create a Battle.net name, choose a server and create a character with no problems at all.

I opted for a male barbarian class and named him Alut (reverse of my puppy’s name Tula). I watched the intro and entered into the game for the first time. I am totally blown away with the graphics, play style, interaction and crafting so far.

As expected Blizzard has had some server and game issues all day long but that is to be expected when you launch live for the first time. As usual the communication from Blizzard has been outstanding and they are working hard to resolve the problems.

Last time I was disconnected I was already level 13 and was just starting my fight with the Spider Queen. So far the game has kept me stunned and even tearing myself away from the game for a bathroom break has been difficult. I cannot wait for the servers to come back up so I can play again.

Once again Blizzard has provided us with an outstanding and well polished game like only they can do. Good work guys!

Servings: 14

Total time: 3 hour

Prep time: 30 min

Cook time: 7 min

Ingredients

1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
1/4 cup white sugar
3 tbsp milk
1 egg, beaten
2 tsp salt
4 1/2 cups bread flour
2 tsp minced garlic (optional)
1/4 cup butter, melted

Directions

In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand about 10 minutes, until frothy

Stir in sugar, milk, egg, salt, and enough flour to make a soft dough

Knead for 6 to 8 minutes on a lightly floured surface, or until smooth

Place dough in a well oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and set aside to rise.

Let it rise 1 hour, until the dough has doubled in volume

Punch down dough, and knead in garlic

Pinch off small handfuls of dough about the size of a golf ball. Roll into balls, and place on a tray

Cover with a towel, and allow to rise until doubled in size, about 30 minutes

During the second rising, preheat oven to 450°F

Place 2 baking sheets in oven (will help naan bread puff up)

Roll the ball of dough out into a tear dropped shaped approximately 1/4 inch thick

Bake for 4 minutes in oven until naan bread is puffed up

Remove and turn on broiler

Brush naan bread lightly with melted butter

Place each naan bread under broiler until browned

Keep naan bread wrapped in a towel until all have been browned

If you want to freeze let them cool after baking in the oven and freeze. Thaw at room temperature and brown under broiler then
